A Chinese citizen dies in a traffic accident. There are indications that she was being followed. One lead takes Hauke Jakobs to the "Mandarin", the newly opened Asian restaurant and guesthouse. Jule Christiansen, who is missing two Dalmatians, has checked in incognito to find out whether the menu is true. As the story progresses, she is useful to Hauke, but also puts her life in danger. And Hannah Wagner? She's in seventh heaven. Fresh back from vacation, she brings along a man who has proposed to her: Kevin Behmur. She quits her job as a policewoman in Schwanitz and only has two days to go before she starts her life together with the man of her dreams. While Jule is very supportive of her wedding plans, Hauke can't find a single good thing to say about Kevin Behmur. Oh yes, the case is tricky. The victim was a diplomat. This in turn calls a Chinese special investigator onto the scene, who Hauke has to have investigate on instructions from the very top. Until everything suddenly makes sense because a whistleblower has gone into hiding in the Mandarin who, as they say, no longer wants to see Beijing on the menu. But Hauke does.
