After the accident of a van transporting four prisoners, the inmates manage to escape. They reach Schwanitz undetected and want to leave the country by ferry in a few hours.
During a break-in at the forester's house and the ensuing gun battle, the forester is shot and one of the escapees is wounded. The four continue to flee and arrive at the veterinarian's office, where Jule Christiansen treats the wound of the injured man. In the process, the escapees take Jule and her new intern hostage to go into hiding until evening. Until now, nobody knows that the transport has crashed and that the prisoners have escaped...
Only when Hauke Jacobs and Hannah Wagner find the dead forester and still investigate the traces, they get first clues about the escapees.
